There is no essence of the Germans being Nazis. The acent of the Nazis, was, as John Gray says, a coincidence that brought together the worst elements of German culture. Nor is it helpful to understand the Nazis a completely far-right phenomenon. They recruited their members both from the far-right and far-left and shared many principles with their arch enemy the Sowjet Union.
